Dr. Julie Chen is a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine licensed to practice natural medicine from Canada. She graduated from an Honours Biology Degree in Canada and completed 4 years of medical degree in naturopathic medicine. She has been in clinical practice treating patients using natural solutions and an innovator developing nutritional supplement and health products for 20 years.
Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care system that blends modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine. It is based on the healing power of nature, and it supports and stimulates the body’s ability to heal itself. Naturopathic medicine is the art and science of disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention using natural therapies including: botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, hydrotherapy, homeopathic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine/acupuncture, naturopathic manipulations, lifestyle counselling and health promotion and disease prevention.
As part of her education, Julie is trained in medical sciences including physiology, anatomy and pathology so that she can form proper diagnoses and treats patients using the modalities of naturopathic medicine. She has extensive experience conducting primary laboratory research as well as initiating and designing clinical trials. In Canada, Dr. Chen has worked for several of Canada’s largest companies and have launched dozens of highly successful, innovative and award-winning products to help consumers in many areas of health including joint health, anti-aging and skin health as well as effective and natural weight loss and detox products. She has lectured extensively in Canada, US, Australia, China and New Zealand and has presented at several conferences.
Dr. Julie Chen has recently moved to Australia to join the Melrose and Nu-Lax teams to head up Quality Assurance and Science & Innovation and to help share the science and formulate effective products for consumers. She works now as Chief Formulator at Access Corporate to develop effective and accessible products for the international market.
